Set atop a plateau overlooking the spectacular southern Gulf Islands, Arbutus Ridge is a beautiful course that will please the eye as much as it pleases your discerning golfing appetite.

With four sets of tees Arbutus Ridge offers golfers of all levels a fair challenge. Beginners will appreciate the generous tee positions that make great scores on many of the holes a realistic goal while experienced players will revel in the opportunity to test their golfing metal against some of the island's best holes.

A perfect example of this variety is Arbutus Ridge's fantastic 12th hole. From the front tees this par five measures just 428 yards and affords beginners ample opportunity to post a par or better. The character of the hole changes dramatically from the back tees however. At 456 yards, this downhill dogleg right switches to a par four and requires advanced golfers to carry water off the tee to a generous landing area. Your second shot must then carry water short and left of the green and avoid traps to the right to setup any opportunity at birdie. If you don't get everything on your drive you will be left with that classic battle between your skill and ego: Do you go for it or lay-up and try to chip it close?

No matter which set of tees you play, Arbutus Ridge is a fantastic course and an integral part of any Victoria getaway or the Vancouver Island Golf Trail.
